Ruth Clifford Engs is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Applied Health Science at Indiana University, Bloomington. She has published numerous articles and books, including 'Alcohol and Other Drugs: Self Responsibility (1989), Controversies in the Addiction Field' (1991), 'Clean Living Movements: American Cycles of Health Reform' (2000), 'The Progressive Era's Health Reform Movement' (2003), and 'The Eugenics Movement' (2005).
