Author Information

Edward E. E. Frietman is from The Hague, in the Netherlands. He is a Eurasian of Dutch Indonesian (Indo) descent, who was born in Batavia, the former capital of the Dutch- East Indies, and remains true to the values and norms of his origins. Edward has always been fascinated with technology, designed a communication aid - the EPCOS - for people with severe disabilities, defined the contours of a new generation Delft Parallel computer, introduced a solution to the ""von Neumann bottleneck"" by designing a combination of a ""free-space oriented"" optical backplane and a new class of optoelectronic ICs known as POWERRAM(TM), and has been involved in AI from its early days. He is an author of several books and numerous articles in the field of science. He is now a retired professor of Applied Physics at Delft University of Technology, but he is still an AI advocate at his daughter's company, IamProgrez.
