OverviewEdward Wilson (1872-1912) was Junior Surgeon and Vertebrate Zoologist on the British Antarctic Expedition of 1901-4 and Chief of Scientific Staff on Captain Scott's last ill-fated Antarctic expedition of 1910-12. The only officer with Scott, he formed a close and influential partnership with him and became his loyal confidant. He was part of the Southern Party with Shackleton and Scott on the 1901 expedition; they reached the furthest point south, and Scott named the Cape after Wilson.
