Author Information

Philadelphia native Shalilya Henry grew up in the heart of Philadelphia in what they call the Norris Street Projects. A project is exactly what it was an environment which consisted of drug dealers, drug addicts, and shootings almost daily, day and night. North Philly is where she spent her earlier years later moving throughout the Tri-State Area from south to northeast Philly. She went on to model, write poetry, songwriting and recording, which she was the executive producer on her two latest releases They Can Not Understand and How Could You . She is currently pursuing higher education majoring in Forensic Psychology. A single mother of two boys, Shalilya preservers through suffering a nervous breakdown as a result of her co-worker's child and her children's father who attempted to take her life in 2008. This was followed by Severe Anxiety and PTSD. She has found the courage to pursue her dreams despite of, and share her talents with the world. After years of doctors who were not able to assist in her healing, Shalilya became fed up and decided to figure it out on her own. Thus, writing a series of books, songs, poetry and going back to further her education so she can be better equipped in helping others. Which is something she loves, and her mission is to educate in an attempt to prevent others from going through the same senseless experiences she has. Her traumas have sent her on a quest to assure that this happens. You can find more of her projects on her website @Shalilya.com
