Nikolas Thornton grew up in a deeply rich environment of creativity and imagination. From watching Bugs Bunny, Monty Python, Night Gallery, Twilight Zone, and Ray Bradbury Theater to reading his favorite authors, Shel Silverstein to Edgar Allan Poe, and from Dr. Seuss to Ray Bradbury, his imagination was set afire. An ever-growing stack of index cards of new story ideas on his bedside stand testament to Nikolas' immunity to writer's block. Each card patiently awaits its day to shine. Despite having written stories for years, Nikolas only recently started submitting stories for publication. His stories met with immediate success. Contracts for traditional publishing arrived quickly. Maïlys Pitcher is a designer and matte painter working in the animation industry in Vancouver, and an illustrator in her free time. She has always been passionate about drawing and story-telling. She grew up in a bilingual family of artists, surrounded by illustrated books, paintings and French comic books, and soon knew she wanted to make art her career. In high school, she won a national drawing contest and illustrated her first children's book. Since then, she has done more illustration jobs, worked on art commissions and various designing projects. In her art, she wants to tell a story and engender emotions to the viewer. Lighting and colours are her favorite part of research, and she is fascinated by how they can affect and give a mood to a piece.
