OverviewDuring The Glorious Age of Invention following a Great Plague that wiped out many in England and a Great Fire that wiped out the Plague, a young unknown Porter came onto the scene- destined to become a National Hero - Henry Winstanley rose from fixing windows at an Essex Manor House tc turning his own into a 17th Century version of Disneyland. A fantastical Waterworks followed in London's Piccadilly featuring a magic barrel spouting all manner of drinks from a single tap as fire-breathing dragons swooped overhead and a robotic duck laid eggs beneath attracting crowds long after his death. Henry's most cherished Wonder started saving lives as soon as it was built - a magnificent Lighthouse that he stated his wish to be inside during 'The Greatest Storm That Ever Was' to celebrate its worth. He died when his wish was granted - on November 26th 1703, in what is still judged to be Britain's worst ever storm, both Henry and all remnants of his precious Lighthouse were destroyed. By building his lighthouse entirely at sea Henry had surpassed Alexander the Great's Pharos - becoming in effect The Eighth Wonder of the World.
