Author Information

Stephen W. Hinch has over twenty years' experience in senior management positions serving R&D, marketing, manufacturing, and business general management at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies, and six years as President of TeamLogic IT in Santa Rosa, California. He has personally led innovation projects that have contributed well over $1 billion of new revenue to those companies. He holds three patents in telecommunications technologies and is the author of the groundbreaking professional reference book, Handbook of Surface Mount Technology. The international electronics manufacturing trade association, IPC International, presented him with their President's Award for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the electronics industry. He now serves as executive consultant to companies in the high-tech industry. In his free time Steve enjoys exploring remote corners of the American Southwest. His 2022 book on the canyon country of southern Utah, The Slickrock Desert, was named winner of an IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award for being judged one of the best nonfiction books of the year.
