My favourite parts about this book are the illustrations and characters. Each page is gorgeously illustrated with a rich, vibrant colour palette, delivering a true visual feast that both children and adults will enjoy. The characters-Evie, Thea, Eric, Daniel, Alex, and so many more-are sweet, charming, and very relatable. And I loved the inclusion of fun, scientific facts and new, complicated words with a glossary of terms at the end of the book to help expand a young reader's knowledge and vocabulary. Educational and fun, this book is a great one to add to your child's book collection or to an elementary school library. I look forward to seeing the future volumes in this heartwarming series.

Author Information

Kaelen Felix is a native to Saint Louis, Missouri before moving to Tennessee where she is a graduate of Memphis College of Art (Alumna 18'). She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration along with an interest in graphic design, and she continues to learn about art history, too. Ms. Felix immediately discovered her passion for art age two, and she kept that desire to follow since then. When she was 13 years old, she met Kirby Larson, Newberry Award-Winning author in 2008, and they two have kept in contact since then. Since 2018, Kaelen has been self-publishing children's books for clients on KDP Amazon. She also earned four awards for her illustrations in December 2020. She currently lives in her hometown of Saint Louis, Missouri, where she continues to illustrate children's books.
