He works in finance, owns a small real estate company, is a public speaker, and writes a cycling column for Carmichael Training Systems. Scott was valedictorian of his class of thirteen from Telluride High School, earned a degree in Economics from U.C. Berkeley, is a Certified Financial Planner(TM), and is working on a master's in finance from the Harvard University Extension School. He was Telluride's first Olympian, representing Team USA in 1992 at the Barcelona Games. He competed as a professional cyclist from 1993 to 1997 and finished his career as a member of the infamous U.S. Postal Services Cycling Team. Scott lives in Basalt, Colorado, with Mandie, his wife of twenty-five years. Laurena Mayne Davis is an award-winning journalist, editor, and author. Laurena is a Ph.D. student at Texas Tech University and a graduate of Northern Arizona University and Colorado Mesa University (CMU).
