Author Information

Edith Nesbit (married name Edith Bland; August 15, 1858 - May 4, 1924) was an English author and poet whose children's works were published under the name of E. Nesbit. She wrote or collaborated on over 60 books of fiction for children, several of which have been adapted for film and television. She was also a political activist and co-founded the Fabian Society, a precursor to the modern Labour Party. William Shakespeare (baptized 26 April, 1564 - 23 April, 1616) was an English poet and playwright now widely regarded as the greatest writer of the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. His surviving works include at least 38 plays, two long narrative poems, 154 sonnets, and a variety of other poems. He is often called England's national poet and the 'Bard of Avon' (or simply 'The Bard'). He is the world's most performed playwright, and his works have been translated into every major living language.
