She has published five children's books, including the Secret Lives of Dragons, Amazon River and Everest, which received a Special Mention for the Bologna Ragazzi Award, was winner of The Best Young People's Book Award (Openbook), and selected Outstanding Science Trade Book by the Children's Book Council. She grew up around the granite moors of South West England, and now lives in Berlin. Her work has been translated into 17 languages. Lexi Vangsnes grew up among the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where she and a handful of neighborhood kids imagined a magical kingdom within the woods, creeks and meadows surrounding her childhood home (its name remains a secret to this day).
