It is a superb catalog of the botany of Interior and Southcentral regions of Alaska, with multiple gorgeous color photographs of each species. These photos are generously sized so one can take in multiple details of each plant's appearance. Images are supported with meticulously researched information about each plant, including specific details about where it can be found, and the book even includes maps of trails to get you there! I wish I'd had this wonderful resource when I came to Alaska in the 80's to study botany. The authors say it is not a field guide due to its large format, but I would happily bring it along in my pack on any alpine trail hike. Thank you for this fine book!
