"James McGraw is professor emeritus of plant population biology and ecology at West Virginia University. As a scientist and Aldo Leopold Leadership Program Fellow, McGraw has been an advocate for communicating science to the public and policy makers. His articles have appeared in Scientific American, National Geographic, and the New York Times. He lives in Morgantown, West Virginia. Eric Smies grew up in the windy city of Chicago but now calls Los Angeles home. A classically trained actor and singer with a BFA in professional theater from Butler University, he's performed in shows from Hamlet to Guys and Dolls all across the country. He's narrated and produced over twenty audiobooks in various genres and loves bringing these books to audio life. As a voice-over actor he has voiced commercial campaigns and narrations for brands including Public Storage, Walmart, Burger King, KFC, Rent-A-Center, and Best Buy, and he is currently the in-store advertising voice of Whole Foods in the US and Canada. In 2021 he was nominated for the 2021 ""Best Animation/Gaming Demo"" by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences."
