OverviewThe Turning Points series began taking its ultimate form with its fourth volume, Shamkir 2014. The first volume, Wijk aan Zee 2014, was distributed to friends while the second and third, Zurich 2014 and Khanty-Mansiysk 2014 were only available on Kindle which I personally don't feel is a particularly good medium for the purpose. There are 654 positions in the main body, plus 20 in the previews, for a total of 674. Since we refer to the first three volumes in their successors, I feel that they should be included in print. They lack the extensive commentary and analysis and include a number of positions that would have been rejected after deeper scrutiny, but they have significant redeeming qualities: - Some readers may prefer to be on their own. Reader feedback may confirm or infirm this point. - As the author/editor/contributors don't need to devote countless hours providing commentary and analysis, we have here a great number of positions, providing ample practice for the reader. The three books are included in their entirety and in chronological order. We conclude with excerpts from their successors, Shamkir 2014, Norway 2014 and London 1851, our as yet unreleased first Historical book, and plug our Scriba Caissa series of chess notebooks.
