Overview

Wigmore on Cannabis is an indispensable and definitive source book for medical and legal practitioners seeking relevant information about cannabis, a drug that has been recently legalized in many jurisdictions. Well-known forensic toxicologist James G. Wigmore has abstracted, organized, and edited over 550 studies on the human forensic toxicology of tetrahydrocannabinol and other cannabinoids found in marijuana to produce a practical and highly comprehensible book for experts and lay people alike. Using accessible tables to illustrate the differences — and surprising similarities — between the medicolegal effects of alcohol and cannabis, Wigmore on Cannabis will be a valuable resource in both scientific and legal libraries.

Reviews

Wigmore has extensively assessed peer-reviewed scientific literature on the human forensic toxicology of tetrahydrocannabinol and other cannabinoids found in marijuana (cannabis). In this book, he presents over 550 of the approximately 5,000 studies he examined. . . . Medical and legal practitioners will find this an indispensable tome with up-to-date scientific evidence related to cannabis and its use. Academic law libraries will also benefit from having this practical book in their collections, as it emphasizes the depth of analysis that has been undertaken and will continue to be required as new cannabis-related issues arise in our courts. --Margo Jeske, University of Ottawa Library, Canadian Law Library Review (2019) 44:2
