OverviewWELCOME to a book of Maine humor, facts, and the preservation of the Maine dialect. This has been done with love and care by a true Wicked Official Down Eastah, not a comedian trying to duplicate the dialect. One of my greatest hopes is that this book will inspire someone from the deep southern US, or Texas, or some other area in the US where people are proud of their English dialect to write about it and preserve it as well as the culture from whence it comes. In this book, there are descriptions of places and people that will awaken and entertain all your senses. If you are from away , you'll gain a wealth of knowledge AND have fun doin' it. If you're a Mainer, especially a Wicked Official Down East Mainer, you'll delight in reading about what makes you unique AND feel proud of it. Either way, you'll have a special experience. May God Bless all of you, and have fun! That is, I'm proud of my Irish heritage as well as my Down East Maine ancestors. When I was blessed with my precious, fantastic son, Llewellyn Andrew Sullivan, in 1979, I chose not to marry - not that I didn't love his father; a truly good soul, but I wanted to use all my energy and abilities and experiences to raise and give my son every possible opportunity. He graduated college with degrees in Marine Biology and Anthropology, after having, by choice, been home-schooled since seventh grade. There is little Llew cannot do. He is a carpenter, does wiring, plumbing, welding (taught to him by his father), was a Wilderness First Responder and an EMT. He can do automobile repair, rock climbing, and the list goes on. Recently, he has been a guide for kayakers. I am so proud of him. He also inherited my, and my grandmother's on the Plummer side, capacity for extra sensory perception. We've had many interesting discussions about our experiences. A wonderful addition to my life is George, my husband, and his (our) three sons: Sam, Alex, and John. Considering the rough start they had, they are absolutely exceptional. What a blessing to be in their lives. Each one is so individual with talents all their own. Every one is so handsome and athletic, as well as artistic. What gems! I've written two, non-fiction books: Growing Up on Mount Desert Island MAINE and the second to follow, Wicked Official Maine Dictionary . Though each book is quite different, I think you'll enjoy them very much. They will broaden your view of generations and growth of Love! Have a wonderful time with either or both!
