Author Information

Shannon Reed is the author of the memoir Why Did I Get a B? And Other Mysteries We're Discussing in the Faculty Lounge, a semifinalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor. She is a teaching associate professor in creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh and a frequent contributor to the New Yorker's Shouts and Murmurs column, as well as to McSweeney's Internet Tendency. Her work has also appeared in the Paris Review, Real Simple, Slate, and the Washington Post, among many others. Paige McKinney began speaking in public when she was too young to know better. A voracious reader, her love of bringing stories to life led to a career in theater and narration. As an Alexander Technique instructor, she helps voice-users achieve freedom, clarity, and immediacy in their performances.
