Author Information

Robert Matthews is a visiting reader at Aston University, Birmingham. He has published pioneering research in fields ranging from code-breaking to coincidence, and won an Ig Nobel Prize for his studies of Murphy's Law. Beyond his column for the Sunday Telegraph, he has written for the Financial Times and New Scientist and now contributes 'The Analyst' update to BBC Focus.
