After serving in China in the Army during World War II, he returned to the U.S. and spent 32 years working at The Thacher School in Ojai, California. In addition to his duties as a teacher of English, Jack served in a number of administrative capacities and was the leading advocate of Thacher's well-known horse program for over 50 years.
