Who I Killed at Camp Last Summer

Overview

Who I Killed at Camp Last Summer takes a first-person approach to the slasher genre, entirely from the killer's perspective. It centers on a pair of horror-fanatic siblings, Ashley and Alex Byer, who attend a two-week summer camp with their school. The outlook of their adventure turns grim, however, when campers start dying in supposed accidents. The deaths are reminiscent of a previous camp, which got decimated by another killer some twenty years before. Soon many campers die, and no one is safe, as an old evil seems to have returned. This unique tale plays with the typical horror summer camp tropes and uses them in new and fun ways, while also touching on difficult human issues such as depression, identity, and the struggle of belonging, in a way no reader will ever forget. It is a unique tale from the imagination of fresh talent, and Kaminski already proves enough of an expert in the genre to keep you both frightened and entertained well through the night!

Author Information

Thomas Kaminski never had a passion for the page until one inconspicuous day in high school, when his English teacher told the class to write a synopsis for a book of their own imagining. The assignment was simple--only meant to be two-or-three-hundred words-but Thomas found that once he started, he didn't want to stop. He had discovered the joy of bringing an idea, a character, a world to life. Looking back, he can barely stomach his prose from those early days, but it was the beginning of a powerful and obsessive love for creating. Today, he writes in the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres, always with two scoops of funny. He also dabbles in short films, poetry, and drawing, with an aim of improving all. No matter what he does with his day, though, he makes sure to leave a little time for writing, hoping to one day make it not just his love, but his living.
