Caroline DePalatis has lived her life with an international focus - through her studies, her work in international education and service over a quarter century, and in raising her three children with her husband, Dale. She has lived and traveled on five continents and dozens of countries. Caroline became a published author with her memoir Jumping Out of theMainstream: An American Family's Year Abroad, chronicling her family's year in Asia. She writes with a distinctly international focus, nurtures local community around global cultures, and enjoys the world on two wheels along California's scenic Central ​​Coast. Caroline also loves exploring new places, savoring fine dark chocolate, and discovering new ways to express her creativity. Most recently, she is relishing her new role as a grandmother, too! Erika Mungai is Caroline's daughter! She has lived or traveled in several countries in Asia and Europe, as well as Kenya, East Africa, from where her husband, Robert, originally hails. An avid reader, Erika has been plying through books on her own since age four. She has always loved and excelled at art. Erika is a high school English teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. She and Robert are now embarking upon their greatest adventure as they become new parents.
