Overview

When the sun sets, only the truth remains. In the dusty, tumbleweed-strewn streets of an 1883 Old West ghost town, a New York woman regains consciousness with the sun; her memory as barren as the unforgiving desert that stretches before her... Desperate to discover the source of her amnesia, Elanor must piece together who she is and how she came to be stranded in a Wild West town that she does not recognize. With no memories to guide her, she turns to the rough-and-tumble townsfolk, sparking a journey filled with danger, deceit, and the relentless pursuit of her lost identity. Guided by a motley crew of companions - a tough-as-nails saloon owner, a town drunk with a heart of gold, an enigmatic sheriff with loyalties as shadowed as his past... and Weston, a fiercely protective guide who harbors dark secrets that could change everything, Elanor faces menacing bandits, harsh landscapes, an unexpected emotional entanglement with Weston, and her own haunted past. Set against the brutal elegance of the Wild West, Where the Sun Dies will captivate Western historical fiction, literary fiction and slow burn romance lovers, offering a fresh twist on the classic elements of the genres. With its rich character development and vivid settings, this unforgettable psychological suspense novel promises an immersive experience that blends the thrill of adventure with the depth of an emotional self-discovery journey. This novel is perfect for fans of Charles Portis's True Grit and Cormac McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses, as well as readers seeking a powerful story of redemption in the rugged beauty of the American West. As the sun sets over the frontier, what will rise from the shadows of Elanor's past... and can she find the peace she seeks Where the Sun Dies?

He is also skilled at editorial assessment, having appraised thousands of book submissions in my career.TESTIMONIALS: ""I couldn't be more impressed with Brett's feedback on my manuscript! His suggestions, especially around character dialogue and scene transitions, have greatly improved the story's flow. By aligning the characters' actions with their dialogue and adding scene breaks, Brett helped key moments stand out and breathe more naturally. . . . On top of the technical improvements, his comments were insightful and even downright entertaining (I had a few good laughs!). Working with Brett has been such a rewarding experience. I've just started requerying my manuscript, and two agents who were previously interested have already asked to read the revised version!""-Emily Fang""As long as Brett is working as an editor, he's going to be my guy. He polished and tuned up the grammar and flow in my novel to absolute perfection. . . . My self-serving side feels a bit off giving him such a glowing but honest review because I know it'll take longer until he's available for our next collaboration. There's a reason he's booked so far in advance. His work is that excellent.""-Pat Meehan""If you think a 'copy edit' can't drastically improve your story, as well as your prose, you have not worked with Brett! I'm a TV writer and showrunner who has worked on some of the most successful network and streaming shows of the last decade and working with Brett on my first novel was an absolute joy. In addition to drastically elevating what I THOUGHT was top-notch writing into actually BEING top-notch writing, he was incredibly supportive and encouraging. There is a very good reason why he is booked for months in advance. . . .""-Robert Hull""Man, you are really good at this.""-Kevin Timm Design and illustration, along side film and video games are a deep-rooted passion for me in the creative industry. I'm attracted to simple composition, minimalism, striking contrast and monochromatic colours. It's something I have developed an eye for and forged into my own defining style and visual approach. My persistent love for creating pop-culture poster art has helped create an identity for myself and has further expanded my possibilities as a freelance designer. I'm always seeking new projects and learning every day.
