When Your Child Becomes Catholic

Overview

""My child is school-age, and I would like to have her baptized. What do I need to do? What kind of parent involvement is required when a child becomes Catholic? What are the rites associated with becoming Catholic? What are the responsibilities of sponsors and sponsoring families? Do I have to take my child to Mass every Sunday after she is baptized?"" When Your Child Becomes Catholic answers these and other frequently asked questions parents and sponsors may have about the Christian Initiation of Children. With clear and concise language, Rita Burns Senseman explains Catholic teaching about Baptism and the other sacraments of initiation and the process of becoming Catholic. She describes the roles and responsibilities of parish sponsors and sponsoring families--the people who will be paired with your child and you on this faith journey. Senseman also suggests activities for you and your child to get started on the road to Baptism.
