Author Information

Teri James Bellis, PhD, is a professor of audiology at the University of South Dakota and the author of the authoritative text for professionals on the diagnosis and treatment of APD: Assessment and Management of Central Auditory Processing Disorders in the Educational Setting: From Science to Practice. Dr. Bellis has spent more than fifteen years in the field of auditory neuroscience and is America's leading speaker on APD, lecturing around the world to professionals and sufferers alike. Ironically, she herself became the victim of adult-onset APD as the result of head trauma suffered in a car accident. Her writing has been featured in numerous medical and academic publications, including the prestigious Journal of Neuroscience. She lives in South Dakota. Virginia Wolf is a Connecticut-based actress and radio personality. Aside from appearing on stage throughout the state, she hosts a weekly radio show on arts and entertainment (www.wliswmrd.net) and is founder of Herstory Theater, devoted to bringing to life stories of little-known women in history. She also delights in portraying housemaid Katy Leary for the Living History Tours at the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford.
