Burgio started out as an amateur cartoonist, producing a weekly comic strip series for his hometown paper in Alden, New York, while still attending high school. Over the years he's placed several of his Illustrations into various local publications. The idea for When The Boggles Come Out came from his admiration of other children's picture book artists and authors. The original concept for this book came from a poem he wrote as an entry for a literary contest. His desire for this book is to excite the imagination of young readers and teach a small life lesson along the way. When not writing or drawing, his passion for playing drums and working with children at his home church provides other outlets for his creativity. M. L.
