She received her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Southern California. In addition to numerous publications in the area of political communication, she is co-editor of Anticipating Madam President, author of Playing Politics: An Active Learning Approach to American National Government, the recipient of the Goldsmith Research Award at Harvard University, and was honored by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics at Iowa State University. Jerry L. Miller is Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Ohio University.
