Overview

Pablo is a chicken who loves making donuts and donut cakes. He loves giving them to people as a gesture of friendship and also self expression, to be known as the crazy, fun loving donut maker he is, hoping that he will be loved and accepted. But he finds that his attempts to be accepted get rejected or misunderstood by chickens around him. So he has to decide whether he will follow the patterns of chickens before him who have withdrawn and diluted their donut creations just to fit in, or another entirely different path, that honours his true self.

Author Information

Trudy is a dentist who grew up in a very hyper-religious, disciplinarian Asian household, which lead to her becoming quite emotionally repressed and unsure which emotions were healthy and which weren't. After a series of repeated relationship failures, and receiving feedback on how socially awkward she was, she went on a journey of discovery to find out why she was so emotionally unaware and how she had contributed to those relationship failures. During that process, she realized how childhood traumas had affected her, how the stories her fearful relatives/friends had told her were false, and how important it was for her to develop storytelling skills which would open up her world rather than shrink it and cause her to withdraw fully from life. She wanted so much to believe in restoration of lost hopes and dreams, and hope that as she expanded her mind and heart, the possibilities for her life, despite all her mistakes, would also open up exponentially. These stories are the result of that journey.
