Christopher Lynch has spent most of his life around Chicago's Midway Airport, where his family ran Monarch Air Service, a fixed-based operator that serviced aircraft for more than six decades. Founded by his grandfather, pioneering pilot Pierce ""Scotty"" O'Carroll, it was one of the oldest continuously operating family aviation businesses in the country when it was sold in 1997. A graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in history and religious studies, Chris also has a private pilot's license. He is the author of Chicago's Midway Airport: The First Seventy-five Years, which was published in 2002 by Lake Claremont Press. His website is www.midwayhistory.com.
