He received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is presently pastor of the Walnut Community Church of the Nazarene, and lives with his wife, Kim, and their daughter, Irena, in Walnut, California. Elaine Pettit is an Ordained Elder and Commissioned Evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene. Since 1990, she has carried a full slate of revivals, camp meetings, holiness crusades, Prayer Awakening events, and district women's retreats.
