When I first started writing this book, I envisioned myself as the audience. Magda, at various ages between 11 and 18, growing up in an alcoholic home-not knowing what it was, what was wrong, or what to do. I felt like I was dying inside. After I finished this book, I now believe it is for anyone who is struggling with the family disease of alcoholism and is looking for answers. Anyone who wants to know more about it, how it affects them, and how they can get help. I pray my story gives you strength, hope, and healing from this cunning, baffling, and powerful disease.

I am a self-help and children's book author. From the time I was nine years old, I wanted to be a writer. In fact, I asked for a typewriter for my birthday. I never thought my journey of writing would take me here. Now, I can't imagine any other path. Why do I write? To educate. To increase awareness on important topics-topics that most people don't want to talk about. To speak the truth on mental health, suicide prevention, alcoholism and how it affects the family, and difficult questions children have on various subjects. The primary goal of all my writing is to give people a glimmer of hope.
