She holds a doctorate degree in management from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Brown is a certified CPA and has worked with the accounting Firm Arthur Anderson in Washington, DC. She was president and founder of Valerie K. Brown, CPA PC for over 15 years, with a client base primarily of churches and clergy, assisting them in training their leadership on roles and responsibilities, and setting up financial accounting systems.
