It is a story of overcoming great adversity from a number of sources and different cap badges . Personally, I served for over 14 years in the UK Royal Marines, spending the majority of my time in 3 Commando Brigade and seeing operational tours in N. Ireland, Sierra Leone and the invasion of Iraq in 2003. In the later stages of my career, I spent time teaching young recruits how to become fully fledged Royal Marines. This book ends during the final years of the war in Afghanistan, when I took a recruit troop through training, then trained them further, while fighting alongside them with 3 Commando Brigade.
