OverviewIn ""What Would He See?"" Sami, a newly hatched turtle, journeys from his hole in the ground and makes his way down a beach to the sea. Sami gets distracted along the way and mistakes a garbage dump on the beach for a playland, only to become covered in a plastic bag. Sami has to navigate being eaten, not being able to see, and his own feelings of giving up. In fact, it is only after an escape encounter with a wild dog that he is overcome with gratitude and the awareness of being alive. Sami is suddenly still enough to listen, and he notices his thumping heartbeat. It makes him then notice that he can hear the sounds of the wind and the calling of the ocean itself, which had been there all along. Sami realizes he was never truly lost, and the sounds are his compass to finding his way home. With his eyes closed, Sami learns to trust his listening and instinct to follow the sounds of the waves to find his way to the ocean. He pushes forward until he enters the ocean, no longer a plodding turtle, but graceful, swiftly swimming and free. ""What Would He See?"" follows the adventure of Sami, a baby turtle, as he journeys from his sandy nest to the ocean. Witness how land pollution hurts Sami while exploring themes of listening and self-discovery in a world of chaos and uncertainty. This timeless message reminds both young and old that wisdom and strength ultimately lie within us.
