It was then that Paul began a lifelong adventure of creating and developing his unique vision through artistic study, practice, and experimentation. Throughout his career, Klee remained dedicated to color theory practice while he experimented with materials and Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Abstract Expressionist, Cubist, and Futurist concepts. Paul Klee eventually became an instructor at the Bauhaus and Düsseldorf Academy and was a member of the artistic movement called the Die Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider).

This is a lovely written and beautifully illustrated book that inspires with its effortless story and large imagination. In today's culture when toys for even the tiniest of babies are riddled with overwhelming lights and sounds, this gentle book calms the soul. Highly recommend. If you like Paul Klee, and there's a child in your life, buy this unique and excellent book! Such a great book! It'll help unleash creative potential in little ones! I can see it being used in classrooms for art instruction. Great book with a great message. I have given this to kids ages 1-5 and all the kids love it. I highly recommend. Bought this book for my two small boys. They loved the story, and it got my 3 1/2 year old even more enthusiastic about painting! I love a good book that inspires my kids, and this one did the trick!

Valerie Downs is an artist, jewelry designer and educator with an MEd and BA from Loyola University Chicago. A recipient of the Chateau Orquevaux International Artist Residency with undergraduate scholarships to attend The School of the Art Institute Chicago. Her artworks and designs have been featured in Studio Visit Volume 7, Style lounges for both The Golden Globes and Sundance Film Festival and numerous magazines/galleries across North America.
