I, KaLaura O'Ram was born in the month of June 1999 in the heart of North Carolina, the only daughter among five children. A self-described black sheep of the world, but never in the company of a pen and a page. I began writing at the age of nine, first crafting short stories in the hidden corners of life.I have always been deeply sensitive to the world - to its beauty, its ache, and its quiet cries. I experience life in layers and have spent my life translating that feeling into something sacred and spoken. Though I have lived through my share of abuse and trauma, I refuse to be defined by survival alone. I am who I have chosen to become through it.I have often felt like I did not belong to places, to people, or to the role others tried to assign me, based on my experiences in life.Regardless, I have always maintained a sure sense of self. I have always belonged to language, creation, and to the invisible thread between the soul and sky.My inner world has always translated best through art. I am deeply passionate about God, about the power of creativity, and about the journey and destiny of this planet and every soul upon it. I believe humanity is divine kin, bound not only by blood, but by breath.I bare my heart and spirit openly and unapologetically on my sleeve.I write for those who do not yet have the words. Every life carries a story, and this is mine. I offer it in the hope that it will help others feel, remember, and embrace their own.I stand for love. I stand for peace.
