He is a coauthor with Kevin Allen of What it Means to Be a Wolverine. He lives in Detroit, Michigan. Steve Yzerman is a retired ice hockey center who played for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. He has been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, and his jersey number has been retired by the Red Wings. He is the one of the all-time leading scorers in NHL history, and has won three Stanley Cup Championships, an Olympic gold medal, and was named an All-Star ten times.
