OverviewLt. Col. Shah Syed Abdul Hannan (Abdal) writer's father, a progeny of Prophet Muhammad (s) of Islam through Syed Nasiuddin Sipahsalar of Sylhet, was born in 1930, at Kalanjura, Baniachong, Habiganj, Graduated and commissioned from Military Academy of Pakistan in 1952. He served Pakistan army for 17 years, and in 1969 he came under the umbrella of Kadria-chistia Tarika and become disciple (murid) of a great saint Hazrat Naquib-ullah Shah of Naquibabad Panjab. Then from 1970 to 1980 he served Bangladesh army and Bangladesh Rifels (boarder security forces) for ten years with dignity and pride. Then he served and organized Bangladesh Institute of sports as Director Sports. He is the founder director and director general of BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shikka Prothistan, a sports complex in Bangladesh). Later on he served three years as Hajj Consul, in Bangladesh Embassy Saudi Arabia, organizing, helping haji's / pilgrims during hajj. He maintained Tariquat very well and got Khilafat from Hazrat Naquib-ullah Shah in 1991, and died in 6th February 2010. A great writer Syed Abdullah wrote about him, in his great research full history book of Sylhet and Taraf, Gobeshonar Aloke Torof Bijoy as follows One of the branch of Syed Almas alias Maju khandokar son of Syed Illas kuddus kutubul Awlia, were settled in the village Kankanjura of Baniachung, Habiganj. From Syed dinesty of Kankanjura, Syed Imtiayas Ali got married to a daughter of Syed Nawab Ali of Uttarsur. Syed Imtiyas Ali Shahab had five sons, Syed Abdur Razzak, Syed Abdul Mannan (Alias Syed Sattir Ali, writers grandfather), Syed Abdul Khalek, Syed Abdul Bari and Syed Abdur Noor. Syed Abdul Mannan (Alias Syed Sattir Ali, writer's grandfather) had four sons, are Syed Abdul Hannan (writer's father), Syed Abdul Baqui, Syed Abdur Raquib and Syed Adbur Rab. Among them Lt. Col Syed Abdul Hannan is well known person. And It is very rare to find such an honest person in the society now a days....
