Cyrus Vakili-Zad is a retired urban sociologist who lived in Malta from 2003 to 2012, lecturing on housing, homelessness and womens issues at the department of public policy, University of Malta. In addition to many articles published in professional journals, in 2006 he published counting the homeless in Malta; in 2007, a book, Housing Policy in Malta, Maltas Place in the Worlds of Welfare Capitalism, Union Press, Marsa, Malta; in 2013 Domestic Violence and the Feminization of Homelessness in Malta; and 2014 Domestic Violence and the Feminization of Homelessness in Malta. Cyrus is associated with the Neighbourhood Change, University of Toronto.
