Author Information

Chris Kindred (they/them) is an author, illustrator, and game designer based in Brooklyn, New York. Their work has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Nib, the History Channel, FIYAH literary magazine, and an upcoming graphic novel with First Second Books. Kindred also writes and consults for video games, contributing narrative consultation to over ten indie and AAA titles in the past few years. In 2020, they received their MFA from NYU Game Center, with a focus in storytelling for analog and digital games. Ru Xu graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and went on to create the graphic novel series NewsPrints with Scholastic's Graphix imprint and then Status Royale with VIZ Media. NewsPrints and its sequel EndGames have been nominated for an Edgar and an Ignatz. Currently, Ru also works on a semi-animated webcomic called Saint for Rent, which has been nominated for a Reuben.
