Reviews

-What Daddy Didn't Know will change the national conversation on parenting and redirect the paradigm around fatherless children, their potential, their contributions, and their impact on our world now and in the future.--Brenda D. Harris Lee (Founder/ CEO, International Black Health Alliance)-A must read for boys and girls growing up without their biological fathers and for fathers who have chosen to be absent. Hard-hitting, painful, and at the same time heartening!--Dr. Dorothy Huston (Editor and Publisher, The Valley Weekly Newspaper; Founder-Tennessee Valley Diversity Leadership Colloquium)-Those who read these letters of a fatherless child will get a great sense of the ambitions, fears, optimism, and despair that inhabit the hearts and minds of many young black men. And hopefully, it will put a human face on these young brothers who far too often are relegated to being social ills and statistics.--David Person (Member of USA Today Board of Contributors and Social Justice Activist)

Author Information

My name is Lance Brazelton, and I'm twenty-one years old. I'm an author, publisher, illustrator, producer, artist, and motivational speaker. In 2015 I was recruited as a writer, reporter, and audio operator behind the scenes for the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, California. While in Los Angeles, I also had the opportunity to visit Hollywood studios and interview award winning producers in both the television and music industry. Spring of 2015, I mentored a group of high school students from both Huntsville City Schools and Madison County Schools. The classes were taught at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama. I taught my students how to write scripts and conduct interviews for a digital storyline. The students then produced their own videos by interviewing the artist around Lowe Mill. I'm now in the process of self-publishing my first book titled -What Daddy Didn't Know- The Letters of a Fatherless Child. I wrote this book because I didn't want to become another statistic of fatherless children. I wanted to show the world how I took a negative real life situation and turned it into one of the most inspirational stories to ever be told. There are millions of fatherless children around the world, but who is discussing the tragedy of this topic? How many people really know the true story behind every fatherless child? The book was written out of the inspiration of songs and poems I wrote throughout my childhood. After the publication of the book, I'll be pursuing the production of an audio book and music album.
