On safari in the savanna, a curious little girl follows a large new friend While on a safari adventure, a budding photographer meets an elephant friend while taking pictures of the scenery. The encounter turns into an afternoon of observation and discovery. From eating, to swimming, to pooping, elephants are just like us ... aren't they? Well, maybe not quite ... For instance, when you spot an elephant, you might be tempted to offer her a water bottle in the sweaty, savanna heat. But not to worry! Author Information

DEBORAH KERBEL is the author of middle grade and YA novels, nonfiction, and many picture books, including What About an Octopus? and Whirl. She also wrote the award-winning graphic novel Fred & Marjorie. Deborah's books have been shortlisted for numerous awards, including the Governor General's Literary Award and the Forest of Reading Blue Spruce Award. She lives with her family in Thornhill, Ontario. DAWN LO is a graduate of Emily Carr University, and in addition to illustrating children's books, her work has appeared on stationery, greeting cards, public art installations, murals, and more. She also works part-time in her local library where she can surround herself with books. She lives and works in Burnaby, British Columbia.
