Weaving Made Easy: 18 Projects Using a Simple Loom

Overview

Weaving Made Easy, well, makes weaving easy. It includes eighteen simple projects made on a simple rigid heddle loom. A perfect blend of fun and functionality, the rigid heddle is small, portable, and affordable. Weaving compliments and extends all the other fiber crafts: sewing, knitting, spinning, crochet, and more. It's the fastest way to create a scarf using popular knitting yarns; the easiest way to create one-of-a-kind fabrics for clothing, accessories, and home decor. Anyone can learn, using nothing more than their hands, their imagination, and their third-grade math. Weaving Made Easy shows how to make sinuous, drapey fabrics; sturdy, practical fabrics; fun, funky fabrics. Projects range from scarves and tops to bags and belts, from pillows and placemats to rugs and blankets. Eighteen projects with complete instructions, clear step-by-step photographs, and abundant tips and techniques for color, design, construction, and embellishment make this the ultimate idea book for the would-be weaver.

Reviews

www.karenplatt.co.uk: Simple loom weaving with seventeen projects worked on a rigid heddle loom. The projects range from wearable items such as bags, scarves and belts to placemats, cushions and rugs. This 127 page book is an enthusiastic guide to working on a small, portable loom. Almost half the book is a how to use your lom guide, the rest is what to create with it. It shows you the basics of getting to grips with your loom and how to create many useful projects. The book is clearly photographed and written and instructions are easy to follow. The fabrics created are varied enough to give you a thorough grounding in the possibilities for more exploration on your own. Each of the projects are well chosen, usable, varied and fun to make. This is an excellent book for learning the techniques of weaving on a rigid heddle and the patterns and fabric you can create.
