Overview

We Were Angels is a collection of poetry written about a relationship I was in at 15. A deep connection turned into a devastating heartbreak and eventual hospitalization. The subject of our tale, The Angel, was a boyfriend of mine from October of 2022 to February of 2023. He was a caring and respectful guy, and I have nothing but respect for his decision to leave me. He is now living in Missouri with his girlfriend and is expecting a baby with her. He knew me by many names. He knew me while I was trying to figure out who I was. He was doing the same. We were both too young to know what we truly wanted. We originally just wanted each other. I'm glad he left, and I am so proud of him for moving on with his life. This is my closure. My final goodbye to the legacy we never built and the story I have mourned for far too long.
