Lauren St John grew up on a farm and game reserve in Zimbabwe surrounded by horses, cats, dogs, warthogs, and a pet giraffe. After a decade as a sports and music journalist, she wrote her bestselling debut novel, The White Giraffe, and has since published many more acclaimed books for young readers. A passionate conservationist, Lauren is a patron for the Born Free Foundation and Mane Chance Animal Sanctuary and the founder of Authors4Oceans.org. When not writing or saving leopards and dolphins, she is a full-time valet to her cats, Max and Skye. Elizabeth Evans has received many grants and fellowships for her writing, including an NEA Fellowship, the James Michener Fellowship, and fellowships at Yaddo and MacDowell. She is the author of The Blue Hour and lives in Tucson, Arizona.
