Overview

In this video Mark W. LeChevallier, PhD, will discuss water main breaks and repairs. The purpose of this video is to help improve our responses to main breaks and evaluate the effectiveness of existing protocols and see if we can do better. Ultimately providing tools to the crews in the field to properly fix a main and put it back into service, because public health is protected by having the right procedures in place to control contaminations so customers are not exposed. AWWA Standard C651 Disinfecting Water Mains will be discussed as it incorporates many of the concepts that will be included in the presentation.
