Teaching and Admin After five years of holding the EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship (2001-2005), which allowed me to devote myself to personal research and relieved me of regular teaching and admin duties I am contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching Civil engineers are leading players in the provision and operation of the infrastructure which underpins all successful economies. I like teaching engineering subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These are subjects related to civil engineering, computers, optimisation and sustainable water infrastructure. Centre for Water Systems Co-founder and Director of the centre with probably the largest UK group working in the area of water systems engineering. The Centre for Water Systems at the University of Exeter tries to meet a real need for research into water systems engineering. As the expansion and development of the world population continues, it brings with it increased industrialisation, intensive agriculture, increased pollution and climate change, putting severe pressure on natural water resources. The provision of a reliable and sustainable supply of safe, clean water, appropriate treatment and disposal of wastewater and the safeguard of our natural environment are high priorities for all countries. Publications Has published over 150 research / professional papers, books and research reports. Now Department of Engineering School of Engineering and Computer Science University of Exeter
