The 21st century was always an exciting prospect when I was a kid Somehow it's all gone horribly wrong. There's more hatred, hunger, poverty, war and downright danger than I've ever known. Politicians seem to have lost any sense of statesmanship or diplomacy. Corruption is rife. Law and order is broken. Folk are migrating around the globe in search of safety and streets paved with litter instead of gold. Occasionally I write about these things. You could put on a Smiths album or you could read these rhymes. The resultant sense of misery will be similar.
