OverviewThe first major study of Game of Thrones audiences, presenting findings to understanding fantasy in contemporary societies. Game of Thrones was an international sensation, and has been looked at from many different angles. But to date there has been little research into its audiences: who they were, how they engaged with and responded to it. This book presents the findings of a major international research project that garnered more than 10,000 responses to an innovative 'qualiquantitative' questionnaire. Among its findings are: A new way of understanding the place and role of favourite characters in audiences' responses New insights into the role of fantasy in encouraging thinking about our own world An account of two combined emotions - relish and anguish - which structure audiences' reactions to controversial elements in the series Full Product DetailsAuthor: Martin Barker , Clarissa Smith , Feona Attwood , Sarah RalphPublisher: Manchester University Press Imprint: Manchester University Press Dimensions: Width: 15.60cm , Height: 1.30cm , Length: 23.40cm ISBN: 9781526152176ISBN 10: 1526152177 Pages: 208 Publication Date: 17 March 2021 Audience: General/trade , College/higher education , Professional and scholarly , General , Tertiary & Higher Education Format: Hardback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Manufactured on demand ![]() We will order this item for you from a manufactured on demand supplier.
