OverviewWashashores Review (Volume 1, Issue 1, Summer 2025) is the first anthology of creative writing by the Washashores Writers Collective. The Collective is a diverse group of women and women-identifying writers with a connection to Martha's Vineyard, an island off the coast of Massachusetts. The essays, poems, and short stories in this collection were all inspired by the magic of the island with its unique culture, history, and mix of people. She has taught English and creative writing at the Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School for over fifteen years. ELISA M. SPERANZA is the author of the historical novel The Italian Prisoner, a finalist in the Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. A cofounder of the Martha's Vineyard-based Washashores Writers Collective, she works with the New Orleans Writers Workshop and has been a featured author at Islanders Write, the Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival, the Louisiana Book Festival, and the Salem LitFest.
