Overview

This small book of remembrance was produced to honor the life of Warren James Hays, known to all as Jay, who was a friend to all who knew him. Some knew him in his energetic youth. Some of us were fortunate to have known him as a warrior and a natural leader in war. Others knew him as a successful businessman whose word was his bond. His family knew him as a loving husband and father. We all knew him as a giant of a man who cared deeply for his fellow men, woman, and especially children. Jay was always there for us. In war, he was an outstanding aviation crew chief and platoon sergeant. Jay was an innovative thinker with a do it now attitude, and his actions contributed immeasurable to saving countless lives. In peace, like war, when we called, he responded to the needs of his beloved Intruder family while continuing to develop his business and support his own all-American family. We shall miss him each day. However, his legacy will live on in the many individuals whose lives he touched. Rest in peace, Intruder Bandit 26A. You have done well for your family, your community, and our country. We believe that a man is not dead until he is forgotten. Therefore, our friend Jay Hays will live forever. Veteran, War, Helicopter, Remembered by, Intruder Bandit, Jay Hays, 26A, Assault Helicopter Company Association, Vietnam
